An old school Dennis brand fire engine attends a scene near 'The Fox And Hounds' pub and parks a little behind what is now a vintage motorbike (is it a Triumph?).
Fire engines hold special wonder and amazement for kids, maybe due to their heroic actions, maybe due to British Children TV shows like 'Trumpton' or 'Fireman Sam.'
Children and mums come out to see what the fuss is about but lucky it’s a 'False Alarm!' as its winter and all the chimneys are going!
I love the red colour of the fire engine, the green of the motorbike, which Leigh reuses on colouring the pub too!
The road name is 'Berkshire Street' if you look to the left on the house and undoubtedly this is a real location in Northern England, perhaps one meaningful to leigh and his childhood!
