A family day out to Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire in England’s West Midlands; William Shakespeare is said to have been born in this house on Henley Street, the large medieval one in the background!

Of course, the children are more interested in the ice-cram cart pictured on the pavement and that, along with the family, are the only ones painted in colour by Leigh, highlighting this special family day out and the importance of ice-cream!

Pictured in the background of ‘To Be Or Not To Be’ is William Shakespeare’s birthplace on Henley Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, which still stands today. His parents where John & Mary Shakespeare and there were able to afford the biggest house on the street!

Shakespeare’s first five years of marriage to Anne Hathway were also spent in this house. Incidentally Anne Hathway’s cottage, also in Stratford-upon-Avon, is depicted in this limited edition print: ‘Alan Ingham - Heart Of The Country.’
