Part of the highly successful and ongoing ‘JJ Adams - Rule Britannia Series,’ this time filled with British iconography as well as cartoon characters and of course based around Kenneth Grahame's novel ‘The Wind in the Willows’ (1908).

Interestingly there is a mention of a canal boat (barge) in the book, as Mr Toad escapes from prison in a horse-drawn barge disguised of course as a washer woman! In this version our characters are on a 'Pirate Ship' canal boat, complete with skull and crossbones flag and fittingly named the ‘Jolly Roger’ - made in ‘Canvey Island’ in Essex no less!

Winston Churchill & Lord Nelson are on board, as his ship HMS Victory engages in battle in the background. There is also plenty of cartoon characters: Captain Hook & his nemesis the Crocodile, Popeye, Donald Duck, Captain Pugwash - by the way did you see Rowan Atkinsons' Blackadder is there!

JJ has filled the picture with lots of little Easter Eggs for you to enjoy. The canal boat is somehow avoiding being hit by the canons, as little fountains of water spring up around it with the near misses!
