In fact, the first limited edition featuring this image, simply called 'The Bat,' pre-sold out to galleries before it even launched, such is the magnificence of JJ's artwork and of course the built in fan base for everything Dark Knight related.

But this wouldn’t have happened had JJ Adams not been able to capture the very essence of the crime fighter, which he does so effortlessly, somehow creating an image filled with power and mystique - who is? where is from? Is he on our side?

Using the same image from ‘The Bat’ and creating small limited editions of just 10 copies, JJ has reproduced hand finished editions with different coloured stencils, writing the words: 'I Am Vengeance,’ a phrase intertwined with the dark superhero.

To be honest, Batman kind of goes against the grain of most superheroes and in particular Christian Bale’s version in Nolan’s film trilogy. Torn with a sense of anger and vengeance for his parents’ untimely deaths, he battles against these internal forces and his opposing desires to do good, to protect the people of Gotham and to be a beacon of hope!

These are hand finished (by JJ himself!) mixed-media limited editions, and you can see the frames are also hand 'paint splattered' for a fresh out the studio effect.
