Known for his popular figurative artwork of famous female celebrities and for experimenting in art production techniques, Simon is particularly adept at silk screen printing, with individual colours ‘screened’ onto each print by hand.
One of his most famous limited edition series is undoubtedly the 'Simon Claridge - The Diamond Dust Collection,' on canvas black and white silkscreens of starlets and models, generously enhanced with diamond dust!
His later work with Washington Green would really showcase his skillset with silkscreen production and colour variation, producing a ‘Penny Black’ stamp series and a very Warhol-esque collection featuring a Marilyn Monroe/ Mona Lisa crossover: 'Monroe Lisa.' This would mark the beginning of Simon's journey into the Pop Art genre!

'One of my earliest memories of high school was running from assembly to be the first in line for art class on a Tuesday morning, excited to continue working on my paintings from the previous week!
My love of art & creating continued throughout my school years, and every time I was asked what I wanted to do when I grew up, the answer was always ‘be an artist!’ Later on, I was very fortunate to have a fantastic art department at university where I found my strengths in painting, particularly in life drawing classes & figurative works.
On receiving my degree in Fine Arts from the University of Reading, I was determined not to leave the path I had so enthusiastically followed and continued to paint wherever and whenever I could. I was only interested in becoming a painter and I could not imagine life without my paints, canvases & easel!
Fortunately, the art I was producing seemed to resonate with people, and this gave me the confidence that led me to the door of Washington Green Fine Art publishers; they gave me the opportunity me to make my dreams come true and signed me as one of their published artists!'
