Paul Oz takes on painting the legendary man from the band 'Bob Marley and the Wailers,' of course the beloved reggae singer Bob Marley himself!

A superb large portrait of the musical genius, perhaps most famous his song 'No Woman No Cry,’ from the studio album Natty Dread (1974). The release of the live recording the following year went on to become his most famous version with millions of air plays, now some 50 years ago!

Bob Marley (1945-1981) was a singer, songwriter & guitarist and hailed from Jamaica. He is considered the early beacon for Reggae music,and he would mix elements of rocksteady, ska & reggae with his unique song style and voice.

Paul captures the joy in his face, verisimilitude and wisdom, which was often beyond his years. He was a pro-African activist and believed in the worldwide unity of Africans everywhere, that they should seek liberation both in Africa and all over the world from the oppression of European hegemony.

Of course he was also pro the benefits of marijuana, deeply entwined with his later Rastafarian beliefs, and perhaps less known is that he believed it helped in becoming more spiritual, connecting with the higher self and meditation.
