His artistic talent in any apparent early age, was fed by their teacher, and he was encouraged to pursue a career in the arts. While working as a commercial artist, Donaldson continued to study fine arts, experimenting with a variety of media and subjects.
Donaldson style signature capture animals in danger of Africa careful and portray the fragile relationship between his subjects and their environment. Donaldson spent two months of every year traveling through Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia observation of endangered species of wildlife in their natural habitats.
Donaldson work has appeared in numerous exhibitions aimed at raising awareness of the plight of the disappearance of wildlife and habitats of the jungle.
