She has always loved the countryside and has a great passion for wildlife. It was at the age of about 11 years that she realized that she wanted to be an artist, and I had the choice between pursuing art or more of a rural life.
Having taken this decision, she was on a mission out of the school and embarked on a two-year course based Barnfield College Luton, followed by a degree in the West Surrey College of Art and Design, specializing in sculpture and engraving.
After learning many skills there after she went to the Slade School of Fine Art and completed two years of graduate school in the engraving. While at the Slade School started lecturing specializing in woodcut engraving.
Upon leaving college, I lived in a studio apartment in Wapping, East London and I suppose I could say that was the 'bohemian artist' thing. She had already established a successful relationship with a gallery called Gallery Curwen, who gave me my first exposure of women in the'80s. She also won some awards-'The Lloyds Young Printmaker of the Year' and 'Elizabeth Greenshields award which allowed me to paint for a year.
Overall in the 1980s she was doing other conferences and various jobs to support herself and her art. However, despite that made me realize how difficult it is to earn a living, I was still only interested in painting full-time, I knew that I did not want to lecture full-time or do any other work for the subject of the painting was and remains my passion!
