This scene depicts a Gerenuk, from the antelope family, which is also called the 'giraffe gazelle’ – how very apt! Some of these more recent limited edition releases have been created from older drawings that Gary has returned to, each with their own story and real life encounter.
This scene of a Gerenuk eating was originally sketched in 1981, but the artist decided to update the image with new hand embellishments from his trusty pencil and voila!
Gary was very happy with the result, and the updated artwork became much more soft and 'delicate' and hence he chose this as the limited edition title!
On their many travels Gary & Dave have seen similar scenes in such faraway places as Tanzania and Kenya, with these adaptable animals 'tiptoeing' to reach the best parts of the acacia bush.
As usual, this is a small edition of I believe 100 copies (maybe less) so do order early.
