One of the more collectable Beryl Cook signed limited editions released way back in 1983!
‘Angels’ has become an image synonymous with the artist and is very well known to her collectors, likely also appearing on calendars and greeting cards over the years.
In this image of care, the uniforms and caps worn reveal we are looking into a different era of nursing in hospitals, when these 'Angels' used to rush around changing beds & sheets, with a smile, good cheer and a strong desire to look after their patients.
I love the addition of purple-pink curtains, which work brilliantly in a lithograph filled with healing white and blue colours. A nice touch is that both the nurse on the right and the patient are seemingly both wearing lipstick! - well of course, it’s a Beryl Cook artwork lol.
