During his school years he was fascinated by creating & designing and admits he was as interested in art as he was in teatime; because of this, he was often late home from school as he was so engrossed with his artwork!
After leaving school he studied Graphic Design and Fine Art for five years, and upon finishing his education he went to work in advertising agency.
He was successful in this career but eventually there came a time where he had to decide whether to become a full-time artist or continue his career; luckily for us, he went with becoming artist and has never looked back since!
AJ Callan is well known for his pig artwork with amusing witticisms in their titles. Later he would has release clear glass sculptures of piggies with coloured glass inside, almost like oversize paperweights, which were very popular with his audience.
