Returning to Newcastle while working freelance for various design studies, I have decided to devote myself to paint full time. From this moment, the commissions include landscapes, landscape, portraits of wildlife and in a variety of ways.
For six years I have worked in my own small gallery in the heart of Newcastle, the enhancement of the countryside and scenes from Newcastle through the watercolor and oil which has proved very popular.
We have four children, one of whom lives in London and the others who live at home with us. To live in the northeast of England for many people that means one thing: football! Our twins Peter and Tim are football mad and are big supporters of Newcastle United, so my wife and I always keep abreast with the ups and downs of their heroes. This is a busy household with a lot going on and much humor is bantered about. I like that; Lively young minds can often irritating, but it can also be very funny and never dull.
He sold many of the jobs over the years and many of the pieces have gone to distant corners of the world. My job is to paint, but once the work is complete then it is up to the general public to decide what they like. The idea of working in a cocoon without being aware of the public and their opinion is absurd, so every time a call or letter of thanks I feel a great sense of pride and encouragement, along with a slice of modesty.
