Stephen Cummins, wildlife and marine artist, was born in 1943 in Hampshire, England.
His formative years were spent in the delightful coastal village of Emsworth on the Hampshire-Sussex borders.
The time he spent observing and sketching the local wildlife and marine activities served as initiation into the world of fine art. His accomplished draughtsmanship later secured him a place at the Sussex College of Art, where he studied graphics and illustration.
Stephen subsequently spent many years in the industry but his interest, however, lay beyond the office walls.
He eventually decided to take the plunge and turned his life-long love of painting into his chosen profession, moving to an idyllic small cottage, set in a river valley in the heart of the West Country.
The art world is richer as a result and only time will allow his full potential to be realised.
Stephen painstakingly and meticulously researches his subject, ensuring it is technically accurate prior to putting paint to canvas. His gift in conveying precise detail, atmosphere, lighting and artistic interpretation few can emulate.
His paintings may be found in leading galleries and private collections both in the UK and overseas.
