The artist known simply as 'Sannib' is a modern contemporary one who star is rising in UK gallery spaces and was nationally signed by a major UK publishing house in 2022, but with an established following & existing gallery representation in Italy, Mexico & the USA.
Taking iconic figures of the modern era, he paints awe inspiring artwork (usually on large scales), and uses unique and endearing ways to recreate & repaint these faces so imbued in our psyches e.g. Marilyn, Frida Kahlo, Christopher Reeves’s Superman & Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker to name but a few!
He enjoys the creative process and focuses on light reflection, texture and bold bright colours and the palette he chooses is often reflective of nature: blues to reflect the sky & the oceans and golds to represent mother earth.
His background clearly influences art and not afraid to experiment with mediums, painting techniques & textures, as he has developed a unique mixed media approach which is his ‘Sannib’ blend, with graphic elements clearly present. Its easy to be astounded by the eye-catching bold colours he can achieve on canvas & aluminium, his colourways and cutting-edge finishes.
Sannib has a Syrian-Lebanese background & was originally a graphic designer by trade, having graduated from Aleppo’s ‘Syrian Design Centre’ in Syria in the 1990s. He has had an interesting near 20 year career in creative agencies, both In London and the United Arab Emirates before coming a full time artist just a few short years ago.
