Born in 1972 in Phoenix, Arizona, in the United States. Both my parents were journalists and my father was a war correspondent abroad for Newsweek magazine at the time (and later a novelist), so never spent so much time in one place. They move from one country to another every one or two years, in great shape, both myself as a person and my relationship with the art. The more we traveled, the more time I started my own expense in the drawing and painting. Following this, art began to be more and more important to me.
My parents, both having written origins were very supportive and encouraged me to continue my artistic interests. After living in Vietnam, Lebanon, Kenya, and several locations in the USA, my family finally settled in Philadelphia, where I spent my early years, and started to become serious after a career of art . After high school, I applied to several schools of art and went to study 'enlightenment' at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. During my time in college, I spent a summer in the teaching of children in a camp of art, where I met with fellow British artist Paula McArdle, which I have since married. I took a year off from RISD (my college) to spend a year studying with Paula in the school of art at the University of Brighton, which was also my introduction to England. I count this time as one of the most important periods of vegetation in my personal life and art: "I had the freedom to explore artistically and spent most of my time working. I returned to the USA to finish my last year of the University and graduated in 1995. Then I moved to Philadelphia and spent the next five years working as a freelance illustrator. During these years, I have worked for several newspapers, magazines, book publishers, and business customers, creation of a name, and have been fortunate to receive several national awards and honors USA in recognition of my work.
In 2001, he married and moved to England full-time, which my wife and I live now in the Midlands. Coming to England, began work on the most personal work and have discovered that my own study of the issues, emotions and artistic experiences has led to what I consider the second period of artistic growth important in my life. I found this personal approach and work in a much fuller, interesting and exciting. I sent samples to Washington and Green is this new work that caught the attention of Glyn Washington.
Constantly on the move, I had the fortune of seeing so much of the world at an early age; This has also led to life-long a love to travel and has been a major influence on my work. Since moving to England in 2001, he spent that time finding my artistic 'voice' and working on the paintings that are more to my personal interests. As a result, I have found my job to change and grow with each painting. I also believe that a new enthusiasm and desire in my approach to my work, and have found this personal work much more rewarding.
So many interests and artists inspire my work. I try to take inspiration from all over the world: people, lifestyle, fashion, music, sports, and so on. I had a great admiration and the influence of painters such as Modigliani, Matisse and Picasso, as well as many other painters and illustrators. The style, color, pattern and texture also play an important role in my work.
