April 2018 saw the launch of Nuala Mulligan's Premier Collection, featuring three of the world’s most iconic women: Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and the model Twiggy; what followed was an incredible response for an artist’s first venture into the UK art market. Using block colour and sprinkles of diamond dust powder, her love of film and storytelling is reflected in these alive and spontaneous new imagery, of world famous female icons.
Nula studied at the University of Westminster, London and took the 'Fine Art Mixed Media' degree which remains a multi-disciplined course and helped the young artist hone her artistic skills; disciplines included: photography, moving image, digital, painting, sculpture, installation, sound, Intervention & performance. It is clear this artistic 'cross training' has enhanced & refined her raw talent and contributed to the production of these stunning limited editions prints.
She has always seen herself a photographer firstly, but she became intrigued by the relationship between camera and model & subsequently she began a journey to discover the many ways images could be altered and enhanced before printing: ‘It’s always fascinated me that one simple frame could tell multiple stories.’

Nuala likes to make screen prints of females whom she sees as beautiful and successful and unsurprisingly she has many iconic ones already includes: Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.
Her own interpretation of what she sees through her camera is defined by the screen printing process and how she formulates her finished artwork – interestingly she sees your response, as the viewer the most fascinating, viewing this very much as a three way dance between: the subject (person being photographed), the producer of work (her) and the viewer.
Her work can be found in prestigious galleries throughout the UK and she as described as a 'Global Mixed Media Arist,' perhaps in line with similar cutting edge artists such as JJ Adams, Daniel Mernagh and Paul Oz to name but three that come to mind.
