When I was a child I spent all day in painting and drawing, in the solitude of my bedroom. I left school as soon as I could and enrolled in a course of two years of foundation with a level of all items based on the art. This is an ideal time for me. The artistic disciplines are taught the practice of all artists, which is a great benefit. Between 1982 and 1985 he trained as a printmaker in Manchester. My job at the moment is figurative, and in my last year in college I had two pieces are displayed in the Whitworth Young Contemporaries Exhibition. This gave me a series of contacts and commissions for portraits.
For a brief period of time taught me the education of painting, drawing and engraving, and after my daughter in 1987, he worked as a teacher and spent the next 12 years the combination of a teaching career with my main love of painting. I have been fortunate to have always worked with colleagues who also continue to produce works of art. This has been a fundamental aspect of my development as a professional. The exchange of ideas and expertise with other artists is invaluable. I believe in art, education never stops. There is always more to learn.
During the last years of my teaching career I have followed with growing frustration in the form of painting in a short time I had in the establishment of substantial work. As a result I have decided to greatly reduce my teaching commitments in order to concentrate on my work. Fortunately, the risk and paid within a short space of time, exhibiting and selling work through a series of galleries and outlets. I have never been happy and I am now able to spend all day in my studio painting. It is strange how life can come to a complete circle.
