Still in her 20s, bestselling artist Emily Crook has had her eye catching originals sold in UK galleries for nearly five years and has also released a small range of Emily Crook - Limited Editions canvases since 2022. She considers her work 'Pop Art' and her artwork is without doubt bright and uplifting!
If you would like your own ‘blend’ of Emily Crook art you have seen, we can commission her to create something bespoke, so do get in touch; as an example, see the ‘Glamorous Bambi (Commission).’
Emily like many painters, graduated from university in graphic design but decided to change direction and return to her great love, art. Since then, she has pursued her own unique vision of creating uplifting and humorous artworks, which certainly taps into your inner child!
The artist is influenced heavily by street art, pop culture and fashion, as well the famous people and iconography she grew up with. Typically we see cartoon characters in her work, and these are blended into each painting often in an irreverent style. Her characters can be seen carrying branded bags or wearing luxury clothes or jewellery!
She is one of a plethora of artists signing with Buckingham Art Publishers at the time (circa 2020) who blends beloved cartoon characters with modern tongue-in-cheek themes; others artist coming to mind include Hue Folk, Inuka, Opake One & Stephanie Jacques.
She clearly loves fashion, but it is for you the viewer to decide is this is tribute to the joys of shopping and wearing nice things or with an undercurrent and poke at consumerism. As usual the artist leaves it up to you!
Emily will use hand created stencils (for the various logos), spray paint (for the graffiti tags) to form the backdrop to her artwork. Once completed the popular characters are then formed on top & she hand paints these with acrylics.
