Ed is a sculptor with a large following over many years and having a unique look on the world and of 'movement.' within his curious bronze sculpture creations.
As you can see notice, much like favourite artists Beryl Cook & Sarah Jane Szikora, Ed does like to play with proportions, via the elongated limbs with figures kicking a football or running with a Rugby ball, or reaching over for a kiss!
Rust hails from historic Yorkshire in North England and a graduate of 'Batley Art College' (later 'Batley School Of Art' and now part of Kirklees College), where Ed feels he found his feet and learnt about the 'great artists.'
One of these was Barbara Hepworth (1903-1975) who is considered one of Britain’s most important sculptors & a fellow Yorkshire woman to boot! and provides endless inspiration for him.
Ed’s sculptures taps into both our shared experiences - who hasn't literally run late for an appointment or the bus? - and sense of humour present in the British psyche, almost reflecting our love for slapstick humour as well, harping back to the days of silent films such as Laurel & Hardy and Buster Keaton.
