I was born in Barcelona in 1952, and I come from a working-class family. My grandfather, along with my father, had a small carpentry shop in the center of Barcelona. I, therefore, practically grew up between the wooden furniture, glue, sandpaper and varnish used in the workshop.
Despite the fact that I have studied, like all other children in Spain in the 1950s, my education was directed to the carpentry trade, following the family tradition. But I must say my passions were art and design, I was not very good in math and other subjects. Then took drawing lessons (engineering design) of a private teacher, who was a close friend of the family and, indeed, my father had taught painting when I was younger.
He also had a love for the subject. My father had painted at least 30 canvases and I remember as a child the way they used to visit the exhibition on Sunday night to see his work. This was the routine weekly as our family on Sunday night on foot.
When I finished my education at work wooden spent some time at the Academy where Tarrega then perfected my drawing and I have learned the art of developing coal. I would point out that the forms of sculptures as Michelangelos David, the Venus of Milo, Seneca in the head and many more. This learning serves as a basis for the next three years, where he studied design in the College of Arts and Crafts in the School Masana, Barcelona.
My life as an artist began in 1989, when he left the carpentry business, and I devoted full time to painting. In 1974 I presented my work to the Chamber Pares, a prestigious gallery in Barcelona, which was a great opportunity for any young artist. The selection of my work was a pleasant surprise for them, which gave me great pleasure because it was the first time that any of the public has seen my work before.
