This month will see the release of two new editions ❤️: 'Lord And Master' & 'Night Flight,' a collection that has been thoughtfully titled: 'Forest, Field & Sky' and sums up Debbie's artistic passion perfectly - November 2019
The artist released her Debut Collection of hand embellished limited editions, with Demontfort Fine Art publishers, in November 2018 to critical and commercial acclaim.
Debbie Boon is known for working on large scale canvases to create her wonderful imagery of nature and is adapt at painting most British wildlife, including dogs, hares, pigs & cows. But undoubtedly it is her paintings and limited edition prints of horses and hounds that she is most recognised by the British public.
She works with acrylics in the first instance to block the composition and then applies various glazes to the initial canvas, before moving on to using multiple of paints to layer the art. It is this unique process, that gives her art a certain gleam and aliveness that elevates her art to ‘must have’ status by those that encounter it in galleries.
She uses 'heavy' acrylics of to get her trademark texture, as well as 'expressive' painting of light, colour & movement to finish each original. Her art is also impressionistic in style and draws parallels to other leading cotemporary British artists, Sherree Valentine Daines instantly coming to mind.
Like many of her contemporaries, Debbie did not initially start as a professional artist and traversed the work arenas of graphic design and book illustration before coming back to full time commercial Painting.
**A quick look at a Debbie Boon originals exhibition:
I first saw her art at county shows across the UK, including some of the major ones: The Game Fair, The Great Yorkshire Show and horse events such as Badminton & Gatcombe Horse Trials. Intrigued, I noticed that each year her style would develop and encompass new ways at looking at the countryside & animals, from the mad march hare in 'Poised For Action' (2018), to the highland stag in 'Standing Tall.' (2018)
In the Canine art market, her popularity is rivalled only by contemporary greats such as Nigel Hemming and Mike Sibley, who coincidentally has illustrated his own 'how to' draw book.
Debbie continues to be one of the UK's most recognised painters of English field & wildlife and one of her goals remains to: 'Reflect life and all its visual personality.'
Based in Rutland in the East Midlands and previously in the East Of England, it is no surprise that she is motivated by the rural landscape of the English countryside and its interesting characters but she is equally enthused by the painting process and bringing her imagination onto the canvas!
The artist has been exhibited & featured widely across UK galleries and up market hotels, as well as Hampton Court Palace and even Sir Michael Caine's restaurant in Exeter.
