The artist debuts the Chuck - ‘Chrysus Collection’ for May 2024, perhaps his best and most accomplished series of originals yet. Once again featuring various layers of textured gold & beautifully painted models, these luxurious pieces flow with a distinct energy & opulence and according to the artist represent "modern sophistication and artistic liberation."
Chuck continues to gain momentum within UK Gallery space with his incredible contemporary figurative art, featuring stunning photorealistic models.
Almost all of his art features women seemingly naked from the waist up, standing in front of large gold circles and their head infused with flowers. Incredibly eye catching, vibrant imagery that carries a sense of frivolity & joie de vivre.
The artist also experiments with more traditional figurative art such as his series of with women (instead) covered in tattoos of floral patterns. He also loves to vary the design, symbolism & colouration within the art, and of course even the mediums used to create his paintings
His love of gold paint seems a constant, but some recent work has featured bold painted background such as limes, pinks & yellows, with the originals: 'Minto,' 'Koubaiiro' and 'Himawariiro' springing to mind!
Chuck returned in August 2021 and releases five new Studio (limited) Editions with waves of gorgeous neon paints and his trademark funky skulls! This is modern art at its finest with these beautiful created limited edition giclees, topped off with beautiful white frames.
You can also see parallels with the compositions of the artist known as 'The Trunk Of Funk.' Although his recent releases have been of Geisha girls, they also have the painted floral infusions (in the hair) and his liking for gold circles in the background that Chuck leans to.
He says about his paintings:
"My arts speech is its shock value ❤️, I like to mix the vibrancy of old era art with the appeal that contemporary art in all its forms holds."
Chuck's work keeps true to this mantra. If you remember, his debut limited editions featured modern art twists on painted skulls!
Having been exposed to art since a young age having a mother as an artist, spending time in the studio mimicking his mother's work, this fascination with art would continue into his school years and eventually lead to him being selected for Cambridge University.
Gaining a qualification in games development in just two years, exploring the world of digital art and his fascination for Baroque and Renaissance work has given Chuck his base for producing dark, melancholic pieces.
While it is still early days for his own career in the arts world, his exciting use of mixed media combining metallic foils and traditional patterns onto less traditional subjects is proving he is one to watch out for.
