The late Austin Moseley was born in 1930 in, what was then, South Staffordshire in Tiverdale. Before Moseley was able to become the artist his studies saw him take a very different direction and he qualified as an engineer.
His career however followed the suit of a lecturer to which he taught at the University of Wolverhampton. His job meant that art had to take a backseat for many years; however Moseley has since retired and has once again returned to his first love of art.
The works he creates encompass the atmosphere in which surrounds his subjects within their painting. The artist favours oils and their application via palette knife. The colours are rich and layered in texture and his subject focus in the rural outdoors. The use of lighting also plays a vital part to his overall image as He depicts either the very early morning or the last light of the afternoon.
Growing ever popular, his work has been displayed throughout the UK and his sense of endearing characters add a touch of gentleness and familiarity within his brilliantly produced paintings.
Austin Moseley passed away in late 2013, our thoughts are with his family and friends.
