2019 marked Timmy's 10th year as a published artist, having been signed by Buckingham Fine Art publisher in February of 2009 and Timmy has been extraordinarily successful transitioning from a British TV (and Children's TV) personality to lauded artist, in galleries throughout the UK & beyond.
His tremendous skill as an artist is agreed, but his remarkable talent has been developing before our very eyes with each new painting and limited edition release.
Painting almost exclusively with traditional oil paints, Timmy captures a certain Britishness about the countryside, about London and indeed the British coastline to name just three of his favourite vista's and his style is very much a nod to the Old Masters.
Timmy Mallett began his career as a radio and television presenter as most people know. He is well known for his eccentric dress sense, for example; brightly coloured, loud shirts and really odd looking glasses. However, this was one of the aspects of Mallets' personality that made him such a loveable character.
It has always been known that he is an accomplished artist. He is good friends with fellow artist Rolf Harris and some of their art works have similar characteristics such as their style of painting or similar effects achieved through a type of brush stroke.
Mallett has had the opportunity to paint many famous faces including Sir Clive Woodward, Ulrika Johnsson and Jim Rosenthal during Queen Elisabeth's Golden Jubilee. He has also been commissioned to paint many murals in the past by companies such as ITV's GMTV. Which he says was a great honour.
Timmy Mallett has recently released some new pieces of art which are very refreshing and his use of colours is intriguing. Many people dismiss artists who begin their careers in other trades such as television presenters (Mallett and Harris) claiming that they are untalented and are trying to collect on their past popularity. However, I hope you will disagree after seeing his new art for yourself.
