Sketching a plethora of famous people for his first limited editions & originals released in 2021: such a Twiggy, Marilyn or Amy Winehouse, his eye-catching art immediately drew customers into galleries and sales began to mount. He has since broadened his published art with general figurative work, tongue-in-cheek slogan imbued images of Chimps and his more recent Superhero Collection.
The artist is now one of the top selling graphite artists in the UK, with only Craig Davison, Leigh Lambert & Mike Sibley rivalling his commercial success!
His art is of course visually fascinating, but Scott has had an equally interesting backstory.
Hailing from Rochdale in North West England, Scott always loved to create art even as a child. In the last 1980s (as a teen) he ran with some Punk Metal bands, and he would sketch punks, do album designs and he began creating quite a portfolio. Brave enough to follow his true passion, he used this art to gain entrance to the Cheltenham College of Higher Education & was one of the first wave of students to be awarded a Fine Art Degree at the college circa 1992.
Scott enjoyed almost two decades as a semi-professional artist, designer and teacher but in the early 2000s his studio was destroyed by fire, with nothing recoverable. As you can imagine this devastated him, leaving without a studio nor the will to paint & he then went fulltime into teaching, feeling he had closed the door to his art career seemingly forever!
In the 2010s, the artist & his family relocated to the picturesque town of Verona, Italy and living in such an ideal place & by chance having a flat above a gallery! unsurprising he began to create again, sketching the historic buildings for hours on end.
Re-invigorated and artistically energised, he moved back to the UK and set up a new studio at home. Selling his art locally and to a few galleries he built up quite a following, until signing with Buckingham Fine Art publishers in April 2021. Scott now enjoys his art being distributed right across the United Kingdom & beyond and has had a number of sell out one-man art shows.
